A Spring Post

Dear Vick,

It's the beginning of spring and I can't help but think of you. There's a big pear blossom tree in my front yard that's been blooming tiny white petals, and as they float through the air in whatever direction the wind is blowing, I see you in every single one. I see you all of the seasons, but spring especially. You are the embodiment of the feeling that someone gets when they sit under the shade of a tree during a warm day, feeling the rays of sun hit their face as they travel through the spaces of the branches. The same feeling that can also be described when putting your hand out of the window of a car and nearly catching the breeze as it passes through your fingers. Spring is a time for blooming, but it is important to remember that nothing can bloom if its roots aren't strong. Your roots are a representation of who you are, who you have been, and who you will grown into. I think your roots are the most beautiful part about you, even when your petals are in full bloom. Your roots make you glow, and I can see how extraordinary they are when I see your face and hear your voice. I miss you with all of me.

With care and consideration,

Emily
